Electrorack Presentation
The Rack’s New Role in the Data Center – From Equipment Cabinet To Critical Infrastructure Solution
Presentation Highlights:
- Evolution of the Role Enclosures Play in the Data Center
- Top Five Considerations When Choosing A Next-Generation Enclosure
- Critical Decision Tools When Choosing a Rack Vendor
- Build-to-order Enclosures Versus Off-the-Shelf
- Airflow Management Deployment Strategies Inside the Rack
- Combating Thermal Issues with Aisle Containment Solutions
Speaker/s: Scott Shew and Todd Schneider
Presentation Specifics:
Managers of next-generation data centers understand that rack selection is now a critical component when tackling a wide range of issues in their facilities. This presentation gives data center managers specific solutions to their most vexing problems, and illustrates how intelligent rack selection can greatly improve airflow management, combat thermal issues, maximize existing cooling infrastructure, and significantly affect the management of their facilities.
By selecting and incorporating the latest rack technologies, data center managers can:
- Address airflow from within the rack while maximizing existing cooling infrastructure
- Scale to meet power, cabling, and cooling demands
- Merge multiple approaches when combating thermal issues
- Implement aisle containment solutions at a low cost
- Increase load densities with little or no impact on costs or operations
Scott Shew
President, Electrorack
Scott has over two decades of corporate leadership and engineering experience. Having earned a mechanical engineering degree from Rutgers University, he has spent a significant part of that time designing and developing enclosure solutions for some of the largest data centers in the world. His real-world data center experience, combined with his leadership experience, has given him the ability to understand the unique requirements and issues faced by data center managers. Prior to leading the ownership group at Electrorack, Scott was a divisional President of Zero Corporation.
Todd Schneider
Director of Marketing, Electrorack
Todd has fifteen years of engineering experience, most of which has been around the design and development of enclosure solutions for data centers. He leads Electrorack’s new product development team, and has played a integral role in the creation of numerous solutions that address thermal issues in the data center, including rack and aisle-level cooling technologies. After earning his B.S. degree in mechanica l engineering from Marquette University, Todd spent three years as an HVAC consulting engineer, where he gained invaluable experience of cooling system design.
Electrorack Enclosure Products
Electrorack designs, manufactures, and delivers ready-to-install enclosures for next-generation data centers. The enclosure solutions are built-to-order and incorporate cabling, power, and cooling considerations, resulting in significant time and cost savings in deployment costs for our clients. Our line of scalable blanking panels, active heat containment systems, aisle partitioning systems, and power distribution units help our clients achieve “green” through reduced energy costs and improved operating efficiencies.
