40% Reduction in fan power over conventional cooling
“Despite 2.6 times more cooling being delivered than is required by the IT load, 10% of the racks still had intake air temperatures exceeding ASHRAE limits.” EPA/Uptime Institute Conference
Because a majority of the cool air that is generated is not getting to the IT equipment intakes but rather is short cycling back to the cooling units, physical separation of the cool supply from the hot return air is necessary.

- Conventional: 0.114 kW Fan Power per kW IT Load
- Heat Containment: 0.068 kW Fan Power per kW IT Load
- Heat Containment provides a 40% Reduction in fan power
